I just ran across this fellow Texan's site. He buys discounted action figures, and creates 
entire new figures out of them by hand. His dedication to details on these creations is amazing. It sure looks like he has a nice little business going for himself. 
Here are some examples of his handiwork. He even made the little penguin featured in his site's logo.

I'm not much for action figures but these are kinda neat!
