One Big Baby

I ran across this story on the BBC.com. "A Russian woman has given birth to a baby weighing 7.75kg (17.5lbs), more than twice the average newborn weight. The "little" girl, Nadia, was delivered by Caesarean section at a hospital in the Altai region of Siberia, joining eight sisters and three brothers.
"We were all simply in shock," reports quoted Nadia's mother, Tatyana Barabanova, 43, as saying.
"What did the father say? He couldn't say a thing - he just stood there blinking," she said...Among the heaviest babies recorded are a 10.2kg (22.5lb) boy born in Italy in 1955, and a 10.8kg (23.8lb) boy born in the US in 1879 but who died 11 hours later."

Good grief! That's 17.5 pounds!

A BIG blessing for the mom indeed to have had the strength to carry that much weight for 9 months!

Thank God it was via caesarean section. What a stretch this would have been for the poor mother. The pain would have been like taking your lower lip and stretching it over your head and that is just a sample of how painful it would have been. You men are all punks and cowards.

YIKES, can you say C Section! LOL. My one year old weighs just a wee bit over 18 lbs! She is petite and I cant imagine giving birth to her at this size! As for the c section bet that had to make the incision larger than normal. She is cute....a big bundle of joy no doubt
