$330 Million Lottery
Well, tonight the Mega Millions lottery is being held. I will be buying my one ticket to see if "Lady Luck" looks my way tonight. The odds are so high that it doesn't mean much to buy more than one ticket. You hear people say that "money doesn't buy happiness." But I would sure like to try and find out tomorrow if I won the big pot. I would end up giving more than I would ever spend.

Terry Tate Office Linebacker - Office Athlete of the Century
Terry wins an award... And a brief history of his life.
A big oops...
According to the BBC, "South Africa's health department has recalled millions of condoms given out under a programme it funded.
The company that produced the condoms, Zalatex, allegedly bribed a government official to certify almost four million faulty condoms as up to standard.
The government is now recalling all 20 million Choice brand condoms produced by the company... About five million people in South Africa are believed to be infected with the HIV virus.
Every year, the South African government distributes hundreds of millions of condoms in a bid to control both birth rates and sexually transmitted diseases."

If the bribe portion of the story is true, then this is criminal. Once again, corruption rears its ugly head.

Secret Lives of Farm Animals
I ran into these cartoons while at msnbc.com. They are drawn by Dan Reynolds; more can be found on MSNBC.com. I hope they bring a smile to you too.

Fans of "Wayne's World" should get a kick out of this... Guillermo gets in a grove as Wayne and Uncle Frank is Garth. Enjoy
Trump's Angels...
Accoding to MSNBC.com, "Donald Trump wants to invite Hollywood’s bad-girl trifecta to join" his "Celebrity Apprentice."
"“We're negotiating with Britney right now.” The Donald told Page Six. (Doesn’t he know that’s almost enough to get a subpoena from K-Fed’s lawyer?!) “Can you imagine her doing it? We're not sure what will happen. She's a [expletive] mess. And that little reality show she had did nothing. But she likes the idea of being on television and I think she'd be great.”
Apparently Paris Hilton wants in on the fun. “(She) wants to be on, and we're thinking about it, but I don't know if we're going to do it,” Trump said."

"What about LiLo? “Another (expletive) mess,” said the blunt billionaire. “We haven't asked her yet, but I'm going to call her this week. It would be a positive thing for her to do … for all of them,” he boasted to Page Six.
C’mon, if this was just about helping out this batch of troubled gals he’d be better off just adopting them. You never see those Trump kids caught up in naughty tabloid hijinks.
But even if The Donald can wrangle Britney, Paris and Lindsay into his lagging reality TV franchise, how will they film around rehab schedules, custody battles and possible future jail terms?"

U2 Bono Gets A Statue
Read today on msnbc.com that "Rolling Stone reveals an artist's interpretation of U2’s overly altruistic frontman. Sculptor Frans Smeets’ “Jesus Loves You Too,” depicts Bono as a white-robed savior to a small African child. The sculpture comes complete with the Irish rocker’s dorky sunglasses." His ego grows in leaps and bounds. Oh well, I will still listen to U2's music.

Society Tearing Itself Apart From The Inside
We live in a society that needs to shape up before it self-destructs. Not everything is bad. But there is so much to correct. This story saddens me with the facts. The story needs to be a wake-up call that changes need to occur. I grabbed the story from http://www.breibart.com/. Maybe the silent majority will wake-up and finally say "enough is enough."
"African-Americans are victims of nearly half the murders committed in the United States despite making up only 13 percent of the population, a report published Thursday showed.
Around 8,000 of nearly 16,500 murder victims in 2005, or 49 percent, were black Americans, according to the report released by the statistics bureau of the Department of Justice.
Broken down by gender, 6,800 black men were murdered in 2005, making up more than half the nearly 13,000 male murder victims.
Black women made up 35 percent, or 1,200, of the nearly 3,500 female homicide victims.
Young black men aged between 17 and 29 bore a disproportionately high burden in the grim statistics, making up 51 percent of African-American murder victims.
The percentage of white male murder victims in the same age group was 37 percent.
More than half the murders of blacks took place in densely populated urban areas.
Most murder victims -- 93 percent of blacks and 85 percent of whites -- were killed by someone of their own race.
Gang violence was involved in around five percent of homicides with black victims against seven percent for white victims.
In percentage terms, whites were twice as likely to be killed by a current or former partner than blacks -- 12 percent of whites were murdered by a life partner against six percent of blacks.
Blacks were also at greater risk of rape or sexual assault than any other ethnic group except American Indians, the report showed."
Are we just going to let the madness continue?

Trying to Make Deviance Acceptable
Okay, now I am no Puritan in my thoughts. However, I strongly believe in the vow that a husband gives a wife and visa versa. I came across this story on ABCNews.com. It talks about "open marriages." I just think these are people who want to engage in adultery without having to worry about a guilty conscience. I have disdain for the guy who "trades in his wife" for a newer model. Dude, it is until death (unless of course the spouse is abusive). If the guy wants to mess around on his wife, then what type of diseases is he making his wife vulnerable? How many wives are go to take the point of view from this story that "it's not cheating, it's growing their relationship?" Give me a freak'in break. I am way too young to be a old-foggie... But this isn't right and it's a further deterioration of our society.

Different Way To Fix A Car
I just came across over this story.
"Faced with exorbitant costs to fix a car air conditioner, Scott Dawson was literally left to his own devices.
After finding out he would have to pay $1,200 to fix his car’s AC, Dawson, 26, rigged a common household air conditioner to fit on top of his car. The crafty civil engineering graduate from the University of Houston cut a hole in the sunroof to allow the cool air to get in...
“I’ll probably stick with this until I get rid of it,” Dawson said."
Here's a pic of his car and its new attachment. It will keep him cool in the hot Houston summer. Here's hoping it doesn't fall off and end up flying at my car... Good grief...
